Prompt
Cold Outbound Personaliser
A prompt that writes first lines worth reading
by Raghav Menon
What it does
A system prompt for writing the opening line of a cold email from a prospect's recent public activity — a post, a launch, a hiring signal. Built to sound like a person who did five minutes of reading, because that is what it makes the model do.
Includes the anti-patterns: the flattery openers, the fake-familiarity openers and the 'I noticed you're hiring' opener that everyone now filters. Tested against a hundred real prospects; the comparison is in the docs.
Ideal use cases
- Founder-led sales at low volume and high value
- SDR teams with a research step already in the workflow
Where not to use it
- High-volume sends where nobody will check the output
- Markets where cold email is regulated or simply not done
The problem it solves
Personalised outbound works and nobody has time to do it, so everyone sends the template and wonders why reply rates fell.
